Minecraft Beta & Preview – 1.21.110.23 (August 6, 2025)

The latest Minecraft Beta & Preview is here, and it brings a fresh wave of features, bug fixes, and improvements for both creators and players. This update introduces new copper-based decorations, technical improvements, and critical bug resolutions to enhance your gameplay experience. Here's everything you need to know about version 1.21.110.23.


New Copper Blocks and Decorations

Copper gets even more useful in this update with the addition of multiple buildable and decorative items:

Copper Torch
A green variant of the standard torch. Crafted using a Copper Nugget, Coal, and a Stick. It functions the same as a regular torch but oxidizes over time.

Copper Lantern
Similar to the regular lantern, but crafted with copper and a Copper Torch. It changes appearance as it ages.

Copper Bars
Acts like Iron Bars but made with copper. These bars oxidize over time.

Copper Chain
Functions like the existing chain (now renamed Iron Chain), made from copper and subject to oxidation.

Block Updates and Fixes

  • Pick block now works for all LightBlock levels (0 through 15).
  • Several planks and double slab variants added to blocks.json for better mod and add-on support.
  • Shelf block now outputs comparator signals correctly from all sides.
  • Items now visually sit properly on Shelf blocks.
  • Creative players now replace Shelf items instead of swapping.

Copper Golem Improvements

  • No longer clones items or places duplicate statues.
  • Now avoids unreachable blocks while pathfinding.
  • Can fit through doors and be leashed properly.
  • Plays sounds correctly and behaves better in boats.
  • Can now be waterlogged and reacts correctly to piston pushes.

Mobs and AI Fixes

  • Wolves now display armor immediately when equipped.
  • Foxes treat Honey Bottles as food and will prioritize picking them up.
  • The shareables component now correctly handles item tag priorities.

Lightning Rod Fixes

  • All lightning rod states now emit redstone signals when struck.
  • Flashing effect now appears for all oxidation levels, matching Java Edition.

UI and Accessibility

  • Action bar messages now have shadows for better readability.
  • /hud command updates now hide all relevant UI elements including touch controls and progress bars.
  • Full Text-to-Speech support added to all dressing room pages.

Technical and Experimental Updates

Editor & Tools

  • Added toast notifications in Editor.
  • Improved bug tracking and display names for structures.
  • Bug fixes in Locate tool, line tool, and Structure Panel metadata.

Items and Tags

  • New minecraft:is_food tag for easier item configuration.
  • Hidden custom items now correctly stay out of command autocomplete.

Molang and Scripting

  • Several renames and cleanup in potion scripting APIs.
  • New resolve() method added for potion creation.
  • Support added for duration ticks and updated potion delivery types.
